A radical new approach in hip surgery by pioneering UK-based surgeon
Mr G Chana has led to the development of an innovative surgical technique for hip joint resurfacing and total hip replacement surgery.
This minimally invasive technique is achieved through a small posterior incision and has proven to be a positive alternative by surgeons, patients and hospital authorities alike.
The key point is that this is not a miniature version of the conventional open posterior approach, which can pose many long-term difficulties for the patient. The MIS approach, however has shown excellent early results, and provides many advantages to both patient and surgeon.
This website will guide you through the MIS approach to hip surgery from a procedural perspective and the necessary bespoke instrumentation required for this approach developed by Mr.Chana in the UK.
Links for Orthopaedic Patients and General Practitioners are provided as well.
